On September 11th, 2008, I received an email from Matt Holt at John Wiley and Sons Publishing.
Matt asked me if I would write the definitive guide on Twitter for business.
And he wanted me to write it FAST.
As in, we have to have the manuscript in a couple months so we can release it by February of 2009.
Wow, that IS fast!
I decided to accept the challenge, and with the help of a lot of input from Twitter users and a great team to organize and see the project to it’s conclusion, I’m pleased to announce that the manuscript is complete!
What’s the name of the book?
It’s called…
Twitter Power: How to Dominate Your Market One Tweet at a Time
Shannon Vargo, my Editor at Wiley, has been an absolute pleasure to work with!
I’m pleased to reveal the book cover now for the very first time…This is a comprehensive guide that demonstrates how any business or individual can leverage the power of Twitter and benefit from the results.
I’m also excited about the foreword of the book.
It was written by none other than the world’s greatest motivational speaker, Anthony Robbins.
This is a highly anticipated title as there are no Twitter books on the shelves of the stores as of this writing.
It’s about time, don’t you think?
Chapters include:
- An Introduction to the Social Media Landscape
- Getting Started the Right Way on Twitter
- Building a Following on Twitter
- The Art of the Tweet
- Leveraging Twitter for Team Communication
- Using Twitter to Drive Behavior
and that’s just a drop in the bucket.
This book is PACKED with useful strategies and techniques that will help bring any business into the world of social media.

Nice! Why do I have a feeling the follow-up book will be titled, “How To Twitt Your Way To Launching A Best-Selling Book Virtually Overnight!”
Every NitTwitt… (or is it TwittNit?) will be jumping on this. I’m looking forward to checking it out.

I hope that people truly understand the power of a microblog and what it can do for your business.
I haven’t read the book but I am hoping that you put an etiquette section in there so people will know how to behave and when to use DM and when not to.

Joel:
I am so looking forward to this book. I want to use Twitter to build behavior and not just for chatting. I want to use it as a method to help others succeed in whatever enterprise they have, so that all the entrepreneurs out there, either online or offline, can never have to work 9 to 5 jobs (just over broke) again.
Here’s to all of you entrepreneurs success!
Expect to succeed and Dream, Believe, Prepare, Act, Relate, Model, and Grow, and don’t forget your monkey each day!

Joel, best wishes with your new book on twitter. As a network marketing consultant for many years, I alert my clients and blog readers as to how they can utilize technology to expand their businesses. When used appropriately, the social networking tools, like twitter, can be extremely profitable. You have excellent insights into the creative use of technology for expanding any type of business and have helped to educate so many people. Glad to have spoken with you again at Affiliate Summit West 2009 after listening to your great presentation on mobile marketing.
